Backflow Preventer Inspection Services
Mechanical Services introduces a vital new level of service — backflow preventer inspections. This important category, required for commercial buildings, helps protect drinking water from contamination through cross-connections. Our technicians are certified to test these critical prevention systems to ensure the integrity of the water supply and safety of the community.
Portland Water District, Bangor Water District and many other area water districts do not provide inspection services for privately owned backflow devices. However, customers are still required to have backflow prevention devices inspected annually by a person certified by the New England Water Works Association or American Backflow Prevention Association.
Inspection Procedure
1. Your water district will send you a letter prior to your inspection due date.
2. Customers have 60 days to complete an inspection with a certified inspector and make repairs if necessary.
3. A Backflow Device Test Results Form must be completed within 10 business days of the inspection. Failure to provide this information may result in disconnection of the water service to your premises.
Mechanical Services has CERTIFIED BACKFLOW DEVICE INSPECTORS. We’ll do all the paperwork. Call us today!
